Ahmed Ghram

Ahmed Gharram is a human rights activist, a Tunisian League for Human Rights member, and a blogger on social media. He was arrested on January 18, 2021, after his home was raided following a Facebook post he made, as many police officers went in to search his room and seize his personal computer. Subsequently, he remained in custody for a week and then brought before the court on January 28, 2020. The court ordered his release and dismissed the charges against him.

The public prosecutor’s office had charged Ahmed Ghram with prompting violence and rioting based on a post she shared on Facebook. A judicial session was scheduled for him on January 28, 2021.

Ahmed was arrested on January 17 as the Public Procecutor’s Office in Ben Arous decided on January 18, 2021, to place him in Mornaguia prison and scheduled a court session for him on February 2, 2021, initially set for January 28, 202. On January 28, the court in Ben Arous issued a verdict dismissing the charges and releasing Ahmed.
