He presented this as an explanation for the minister\u2019s absence from the public scene in recent months, and he posted this information on his personal Facebook page. As a result, Chokri was arrested in December 2022. According to his lawyer\u2019s testimony to Intersection Association, his arrest was based on accusations of deliberately using information and communication networks and systems to spread false rumors attributed to others, with the aim of infringing upon the rights of others or harming public security or national defense, under Article 24 of Decree-Law No. 54 of 2022, dated 13 September 2022, concerning combating crimes related to information and communication systems.
