This<br \/>\nsentence was lifted on 10th October 2021.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">On February 12, 2023, police forces raided and searched Bachir Akremi\u2019s house and<br \/>\nseized his personal computer and phone. He was then taken to the Bouchoucha Unit for<br \/>\nCombatting Terrorism Headquarters for investigation for more than 24 hours due to a<br \/>\ncomplaint filed against him by members of the counter-terrorism in Bouchoucha<br \/>\nconcerning the case of the terrorist attack at the Bardo Museum in 2015.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">On 17th February, the prosecution refused to extend his detention and released him.<br \/>\nHowever, on the same day, the public prosecution issued a decision permitting the<br \/>\nplacement of Bachir Akremi in a psychiatric hospital based on a medical report that the<br \/>\ndefense was not allowed to access. In addition, he was denied visitation during the first<br \/>\ndays of his stay in the hospital. According to the testimony of the victim\u2019s son to<br \/>\nIntersection Association, he insisted that during the family meeting with his father in the<br \/>\nhospital, his father was not informed about his release, and he was transferred to the<br \/>\nhospital without being provided with any information or explanation regarding the matter. Meanwhile, the President of the National Body for the Prevention of Torture,<br \/>\nFathi Jarray, confirmed in a statement to a radio station that Bachir Akremi was<br \/>\nreceiving the necessary medical care. His condition was stable, and he was aware of<br \/>\nwhat was happening around him. On March 10, 2023, he was imprisoned by virtue of a<br \/>\nnew arrest warrant against him in connection with a new case. Since that date, Bachir<br \/>\nAkremi has been in prison for a period that exceeded seven months without any further<br \/>\ndevelopments in the case that led to his imprisonment.
